blue : tail of the dog

i have, in fact, managed to collect a specimin cup this morning out in the garden. i journey over cross town to deliver it for testing. there is a demonstration, traffic jams galore.

Angela sits with me on the sidewalk. Blue is definitely sick. I am worried. we talk about her behavior. i notice a dribble of urine on the sidewalk. whatever is going on, that's bad. go inside and grab the phone, call for an emergency appoinment.

blue won't come inside. she stands at the stoop, looking at me. but she won't come in. it has been unually warm . . . we are having a heat wave. is it too hot int he apartment? i don't think so. i chase her around, herding her to the door. she steps in, but won't top the inner entry steps. she stands straddling the steps, not moving.

Angela calls. dinner? Cyril is here. no, i decline: Blue is acting really odd i need to watch her.

Cyril and Angela come by afterwards, bringing me a dinner in plastic. Blue is panting and listless.
